MAGNIFIERS

For individuals with visual problems, a magnifying device can make a big difference.

A popular myth is that stronger is better. This is not always the case, however. The stronger the magnification the smaller the usable field and the shorter the range. This is why it is important to look for the lowest power that will effectively do the job. Sometimes different strengths will be necessary for different tasks.

We recommend that when shopping for a magnifying device, you bring a few different items that are of importance to you (e.g., a handwritten letter, a bank statement, the TV guide, etc.), in order to assist in selecting the most suitable device or devices.
